Discover the rare Philodendron Luxurians: velvety leaves with deep venation. A striking aroid climbing plant and houseplant for collectors.

Description

Philodendron Luxurians is a rare aroid known for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves with deep venation. With the right conditions, this Philodendron develops a mature, luxurious appearance with impressively large foliage. In bright, indirect light and an airy substrate, it shows its most refined leaf texture. Each plant is carefully hand-selected for quality, so you receive a strong and healthy specimen that will continue to thrive as a houseplant and climbing plant.

Size

Medium – the plant is approximately 30 cm tall and comes in a 14 cm pot.

Growth & support with moss pole

Philodendron Luxurians is a natural climbing plant that attaches well to a supportive surface. Add a moss pole once the plant has 4–5 mature leaves and visible aerial roots. Growth speed is medium; with vertical support, sufficient light, and higher humidity, the leaves become larger and more prominently veined. Secure shoots loosely and keep the moss lightly moist for optimal attachment.

Propagation of Philodendron Luxurians

Propagation can be done by node cuttings (top or mid-cut) with at least one aerial root. Use a covered nursery pot with lightly moist sphagnum moss for stable humidity, or a glass vial such as the propagation stations from PlantStuff for water rooting. Repot into an airy aroid substrate once roots are 3–5 cm long and branching. Difficulty: medium.
