Description

The Monstera obliqua Peru is a rare highlight for true aroid collectors: paper-thin leaves with extremely delicate fenestrations, giving the plant an almost ethereal look. This climbing Monstera has epiphytic tendencies and thrives with stable humidity, soft indirect light, and a very airy substrate. Each plant is carefully hand-selected for quality, ensuring you start with a strong, healthy specimen that is ready for refined growth indoors. A must-have collector’s item for those who value elegance and detail in their houseplants.

Size

Medium – approx. 35 cm tall, delivered in a 12 cm nursery pot.

Growth & support with moss pole

Monstera obliqua Peru is a fragile climber with delicate leaf tissue. Introduce a moss pole once the plant develops 3–4 mature leaves and visible aerial roots per node. Growth is slow, but with high humidity and a fine-fibered, lightly moist moss pole, the leaves will gradually increase in size and fenestration. Tie shoots loosely and keep the moss evenly moist to encourage attachment without damaging the stems.

Vermeerdering van Monstera Obliqua Peru

Best propagated per node cutting with at least one growth eye and a (mini) aerial root. Place cuttings in a covered pot with lightly moist sphagnum moss for stable humidity, or use a glass vial such as the PlantStuff propagation stations for water rooting. Repot into a very airy aroid mix once roots reach 3–5 cm and begin branching. Difficulty: High.
